Vivekananda Memorial

According to popular beliefs, Swami Vivekananda travelled all the way to Kanyakumari to see solutions to the miseries of Indians. Upon reaching Kanyakumari, he swam towards this rock and meditated here for three days, thinking about India. At the end of the third day he achieved enlightenment and thus, Swami Vivekananda - the spiritual leader, philosopher and patriotic saint - was born.
