Fairs and festivals are all about vibrant colours, happy people, beautiful attires, delicious meals and endless dancing – And Andhra Pradesh does it exactly the same. The state celebrates some of the most unique festivals which tell a lot about the place’s cultures, religion and history. Festivities of Andhra Pradesh are categorized by vivid colours, fun, fervour, feasts, prayers and rituals.

Tirupati Festival
Tirupati is one of the most visited places in Andhra Pradesh and Tirupati Festival is the most celebrated festival. The temple attracts thousands of pilgrims from all parts of the world. The temple hosts the grand Brahmotsavam Festival which includes a series of events lasting for nine days.  This is a thanksgiving ceremony to the Lord where pilgrims perform various morning and evening rituals apart from carrying out a grand procession of Lord Venkateswara.

Deccan Festival
Deccan Festival remains the most colourful of all festivals in Andhra Pradesh. It is celebrated in Hyderabad annually for 5 days. The festival is organised by the tourism Department of the state and brings out the best cultural extravaganza through qawalis, mushairas and food. The festival is a melange of colors, music, spices and fairs and remains a must visit for travellers.

Lumbini Festival
Painting the Heritage of Buddhism, Lumbini Festival of Andhra Pradesh is celebrated in Nagarjunasagar in Hyderabad. Lumbini is known for being the birth place of Gautama Buddha and thus, remains a popular destination on the Buddhist circuit. The festival takes you 2000 year back when Buddhism started expanding its roots here. 

Visakha Utsav
Visakha Utsav is another festival organised by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation to promote tourism here. This is a great gala to explore arts, crafts, music and dance programmes. Partake in the festival to witness endless number of cultural shows, exhibitions, traditional crafts, heritage tours, sports events, and much more.
