Satyasai Baba Ashram

One of the major attractions of Puttaparthi is the Satya Sai Baba Ashram, known as the Prasanthi Nilayam, ‘The Abode of Supreme Peace’. Located in the Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh, the ashram is the spiritual resort of Sai Baba, and is nestled among the chain of hills. This hallowed township is the destination for many spiritual aspirants coming from varied cultures, faiths, races, languages and socio-economic status. Followers travel from around the world to behold his divine form and experience his pure love.

Luring visitors since ages, the ashram makes the town a significant spiritual centre. The ashram complex is sprawling with magnificent educational institutions, stadiums, museums, hospitals, well equipped with all the modern facilities appealing to the visitors.
The massive and elaborate complex holds a capacity of accommodating thousands of people at one time. Within the ashram complex, one needs to follow a set of rules and regulations which have been laid down for the visitors and devotees to follow and respect.
One of the distinct features of the ashram is its assembly hall. This is the place where Sathya Sai Baba gives his Darshan to his devotees. The premises of the ashram and the ashram itself are so visually beautiful that it is hard to take one’s eyes off the surroundings. It has recreated history by the turnover of devotees on the eve of Sai baba's birthday. A composed, soothing and placid semblance makes this ashram the highlight of the town.
A visit to this ashram is a must as it is one of the sprawling and elaborate religious centres with almost a city of its own inside. One visit to the ashram and you will feel yourself transported to a devotional and spiritual journey towards the divine.
